Understanding the Story of Noah's Ark

The narrative of Noah and the Ark is found in the Bible's Old Testament, in the book of Genesis, chapters 6-9. It tells the tale of Noah, a righteous man who warned his contemporaries about an impending flood, to which most people paid no heed. God, seeing that the world had become exceedingly wicked, decided to send a great flood to cleanse the Earth.

Noah, however, was deemed worthy, and God instructed him to build an immense Ark to save his family and a pair of every living creature from the deluge. After the flood recesses, Noah's Ark comes to rest on Mount Ararat, and Noah, his family, and the creatures disembark to repopulate the Earth.

Noah and His Family

Noah, the protagonist of the story, is portrayed as a devout man who follows God's commands unwaveringly. He warns his fellow humans about the coming flood but meets resistance from most people. Our coloring page features Noah, his wife, and their three sons - Shem, Ham, and Japheth - working tirelessly on the Ark.

The coloring page also includes scenes of Noah's family coupling with the animals two by two, reflecting their role in repopulating the Earth after the flood. This helps children understand the importance of focus, teamwork, and family values in the face of adversity, as depicted in the story.

The Ark's Construction and Animals

The Ark was designed to be an immense vessel, measuring 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high, according to the Bible. Our coloring page vividly illustrates Noah's family members and the diverse array of animals boarding the Ark, following God's instructions. Children will enjoy color-coding the different species as they learn about Noah's obedience and the various creatures God chose to save.

Coloring the animals also provides an excellent opportunity to integrate science lessons, discussing different species, their habitats, and unique characteristics. It facilitates an understanding of the interconnectedness of life and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
