This Polynesian-inspired animation, released in 2016, has captivated audiences worldwide with its stunning visuals and powerful story. Now, you can bring the magic home with colouring pages that celebrate the film's vivid colours, intricate patterns, and beloved characters.

Colouring "Moana" isn't just a fun activity; it's also an opportunity to explore Polynesian art and culture, drawn from ancient motifs and contemporary designs. As you fill in the lines, you'll create art that tells a story, mirroring the film's themes of discovery, family, and identity.

Characters: Bringing "Moana" to Life

The colouring universe of "Moana" is brimming with captivating characters. From the protagonist herself to heels like Maui and beloved sidekicks like Pua the pig, each character brings unique visual styles to the table.

In the colouring realm, you can explore the differing complexities of each character. Moana's determined expression and flowing hair present different challenges and rewards than, say, the chameleonic Maui or the cute and cuddly Pua. Yet, each offers a fun opportunity to play with colours and patterns.

Moana: The Warrior Princess

Moana, the daughter of Chief Tui and the future chief of Motunui Island, is a strong-willed and determined young woman. She is a natural sailor and is deeply connected to the ocean. Her colours are a perfect reflection of this - blues and greens for the sea, along with warm browns for her skin and hair.

When colouring Moana, don't forget the intricate tattoos that cover her body, signifying her Polynesian heritage. You can use black and shades of grey to create a striking contrast against her skin. Moana's headdresses and jewelry also offer ample opportunities for creative colour choices.

Maui: The Trickster Demigod

Maui, the handsome and charming demigod, is known for his shapeshifting abilities. He can take various forms, including a hawk, a manta ray, and even a tree. This offers a fantastic opportunity for colour experimentation when you're colouring in Maui.

Don't be afraid to think outside the box with Maui's colours. His tattoos can be a vibrant mix of reds, oranges, and blacks, while his hair and body can be a mix of any shade you like. Remember, Maui is a bit of a show-off, so bold and bright colours are perfect for him.

environment: Exploring the Pacific Islands

The "Moana" colouring book also offers a wealth of opportunities to explore and celebrate the Pacific Islands. From the lush landscapes of Motunui to the mystical realms of Te Fiti, each environment is unique and full of life.

The diverse ecosystems and creatures of the Pacific Islands are another rich aspect of "Moana" colouring. From the unique plants and animals of Motunui to the mythical monsters and creatures of the ocean, there's a world of colours to explore.

The Island of Motunui

Motunui, Moana's home island, is filled with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and warm browns. When colouring Motunui, think about the lush tropics - deep greens for the forest canopy, bright blues for the clear sky, and warm, earthy tones for the land and the people.

Motunui's unique landmarks, such as the sacred heart of Te Fiti, also offer interesting colouring opportunities. The glowing green stone is a vibrant burst of colour amidst the more muted tones of the island, making it a focal point in any colouring page.

Navigating the Ocean

Moana's courageous journey across the ocean offers a variety of colouring topics. From the vast expanses of the open sea to the unique creatures and voyages along the way, each scene offers a different colour scheme and style.

For the open sea, consider shades of blue and green for the water, with hints of gold or orange to represent the sunrise or sunset. When colouring the legendary voyager's vessel, theResolve, you can use dark woods with warm, earthy tones. And for the magical coconut te fiti, experiment with bright green and golden hues.

Colouring "Moana" is more than just a pastime; it's a journey of discovery, much like Moana's own voyage. So gather your pencils, markers, or paints, and set sail on a creative adventure in the South Pacific. Who knows where your colours might take you?"
