Dinosaurs: A Brief Classification

The dinosaur spectrum was vast, incorporating various species categorized under several groups. The most well-known include ornithischians and saurischians, but there are many more to discover.

Our coloring pages span these diverse groups, allowing you to colorize everything from the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex to the elegant Brachiosaurus, and many more. Each dinosaur is marked with its specific group, helping children learn about these fascinating creatures as they color.

Ornithischian Dinosaurs

Ornithischians, or 'bird-hipped' dinosaurs, featured hind legs positioned under their bodies like modern birds. They ranged from tiny herbivores to massive, horned, and armored giants. Our color printables include:

Triceratops: Known for its distinctive three horns and shieldlike frill, this herbivore was one of the largest of its kind.

Saurischian Dinosaurs

The saurischians, or 'lizard-hipped' dinosaurs, spanned a broader range from crurotarsans (early forms like Herrerasaurus) to theropods (predatory forms like Velociraptor). Our collection features:

Tyrannosaurus Rex: The iconic 'T-Rex,' one of the most massive land predators ever to walk the Earth.

Dinosaur Habitats: Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods

Major periods in the age of dinosaurs included the Jurassic and Cretaceous. Our color printables allow you to bring these ancient landscapes to life in vivid colors.

A Jurassic forest might feature the long-necked Brachiosaurus munching on leaves high up in the canopy, while a Cretaceous lakeshore might host a herd of Edmontosaurus taking a dip to escape the heat. Each printable sets the scene for an immersive coloring experience.

Jurassic Period

The Jurassic period was characterized by a diverse array of plant-eating dinosaurs. In our printables, you'll find:

Stegosaurus: A medium-sized predator with distinctive armored plates along its back and four sharp spikes at its tail.
