Biblical Characters and Scenes

Introduce your child to key biblical figures and events through these engaging drawing activities. By learning to draw these characters and scenes, kids can better absorb and remember important stories from the Bible.

Start by reading the corresponding Bible passage before diving into the drawing activity. This will set the foundation for understanding the context and bringing the story to life through art.

Noah and the Ark

Gather your child's love for animals and teach them about the story of Noah with this drawing activity. Begin by reading Genesis 6:16 - 7:24. Then, guide your child to draw a simple ark using basic shapes and lines, with pairs of animals boarding it.

Encourage your child to add details like Noah, his family, rain, and an overflowing rainbow once the storm has passed. Remind them that God kept His promise and provided a new beginning for everyone on the ark.

Jesus and the Loaves and Fishes

Tell your child the story of Jesus feeding the multitudes from John 6:1-14. To draw this scene, start with a simple oval for the shape of the bread. Then, divide it into smaller pieces to represent the breaking of the bread.

Add some fish to the illustration, along with people sitting on the ground enjoying their meal. Include Jesus in the scene, showing Him with hands raised, blessing the food. Encourage your child to think about how Jesus cares for everyone and has the power to provide whatever they need.

Christian Symbols and Motifs

Familiarize your child with popular Christian symbols and motifs through these engaging drawing activities. These symbols serve as visual reminders of our faith and can be an essential part of your spiritual journey together.

Explain the meaning behind each symbol and encourage your child to think about how they can incorporate these symbols into their daily lives and drawings.

The Cross

Explain the significance of the cross to your child, and how it represents Jesus' love, sacrifice, and the path to salvation. To draw a simple cross, start with a plus sign and add three horizontal lines to create the shape of a cross.

Encourage your child to add details like Jesus on the cross, nails, or flames of resurrection. Remind them that the empty cross represents Jesus' triumph over death and our hope in salvation.

The Fish

The fish, or ichthys, is an ancient symbol of Christianity. It represents Jesus Christ, as the Greek word for fish, "ichthys", is an acronym for "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior".

Draw a simple fish shape, and encourage your child to add details like scales, eyes, and fins. Help them understand that this symbol reminds Christians of their faith and heritage, and that Jesus is the source of life and salvation.

Nurturing your child's love for art and faith goes hand in hand with these fun and easy Christian drawings. Encourage their creativity, and remind them that each masterpiece is a testament to their unique relationship with God. Happy drawing, and may these activities strengthen your child's bond with their Heavenly Father!
