The Exaltation of the Cross is a significant feast in the liturgical calendars of Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, and Anglican churches, commemorating the consecration of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem by Emperor Constantine's mother, Helena, in 335 AD. This event, marked on September 14, is celebrated with a reverent and jubilant spirit, as Christians reflect on the triumph of the cross, a symbol now understood as a representation of God's love and salvation for humanity. This article explores the Exaltation of the Cross, its history, symbolism, and its celebration through coloring pages.

A'];eentially, the Exaltation of the Cross celebrates both the rededicating of a sacred site and a shift in Christian understanding of the cross. This theology was pivotal in the early Church, and the Exaltation of the Cross serves as a reminder of this transformation.
