Who Was Noah and Why the Ark?

The story of Noah's Ark begins with Noah, a man chosen by God to build an enormous ark to save his family and representatives of all living creatures from a great flood. God instructed Noah to build the ark because He was going to cleanse the world with a flood due to the increasing wickedness of humanity at that time.

The ark was a massive vessel, designed to keep all the animals safe during the flood. According to the Bible, the ark was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. For kids, understanding these measurements and visualizing the size of the ark can be a challenging task, but our coloring page provides a relatable, scaled-down version to help them grasp the extent of Noah's feat.

The Animals on Noah's Ark

Noah was asked to bring a pair of every kind of animal onto the ark. This must have been quite a task, considering the variety of animals across the globe. Our coloring page includes a mix of common and exotic animals, providing an opportunity for kids to identify and learn about different species.

While the exact number of animals that boarded the ark is not specified in the Bible, our coloring page offers a fun way to explore and estimate the ark's capacity. You could even encourage your child to count the animals on the page to stimulate their mathematical thinking.

The Journey on the Ark

The journey on the ark lasted for forty days and nights as the rain poured down without ceasing. This period of tribulation was followed by a duration of time devoted to waiting for the earth to dry. Our coloring page captures a calm moment on the ark, displaying Noah and his family along with the diverse array of animals they cared for.

As they waited, Noah and his family would have had many responsibilities, such as caring for the animals, maintaining the ark's condition, and praying for deliverance. These aspects of the story can be discussed with your child as you color together, providing a foundation for understanding the importance of faith, hope, and perseverance in the face of adversity.

The Aftermath of the Flood

After the floodwaters receded, Noah, his family, and the animals emerged from the ark to find a renewed, cleansed world. As they disembarked, they were tasked with repopulating the earth and caring for the natural world, remembering God's covenant.

Our coloring page captures this moment of new beginnings, with the ark resting on the mountainside, surrounded by lush greenery. This image serves as a visual reminder of the potential for renewal and hope that can come after trials and tribulations.

God's Rainbow Promise

As a symbol of His covenant with Noah and all living creatures, God set a rainbow in the sky, signifying that He would never again destroy the world with a flood. This promise is a beautiful reminder of God's unfailing love and mercy.

With its vibrant colors, our coloring page offers an engaging way for kids to learn about the meaning of the rainbow and God's covenant. As they color, they can reflect on the importance of promises and the power of hope in their own lives.
