The Grinch: Character & Story

The Grinch was first introduced in the 1957 children's book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." He is a grumpy, cave-dwelling creature that lives atop Mount Crumpit, overlooking the human town of Whoville. Initially portrayed as a thief who attempts to ruin Christmas by taking all the presents and decorations, the Grinch eventually learns the true meaning of Christmas from the resilient Whos in Whoville.

The Grinch's character and story have been adapted into various media, including the famous 1966 animated TV special, live-action movies, and stage productions. His iconic appearance, with his red fur, white Munich Alps beard, and red Santa hat (even in summer!), makes him easily recognizable and loved by children.
