How to Change Page Color in Pages on Mac
Tired of the vanilla white pages on your Mac? Want to add a pop of color to your documents? You're in luck! Apple's Pages application offers a variety of customization options, including the ability to change the background color of your pages. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do just that.
Before delving into the process, ensure you're using the latest version of Pages for Mac. If not, click on the Apple menu at the top right of your screen, then select 'About Pages' to check your version. If an update is available, the App Store will prompt you to download it.
Accessing the Page Setup Options
To start customizing your page color, you'll first need to access the Page Setup options. Here's how:
1. Open the document you want to customize in Pages.
2. Click on the 'File' menu at the top of your screen.
Using the Page Setup Dialog Box
The Page Setup dialog box is your gateway to various page customization options, including paper size, margins, and background color. Let's dive into changing the background color:
1. In the File menu, select 'Page Setup' (or press Command + P).
2. The Page Setup dialog box will appear. Click on the 'Show Details' button at the bottom of the window to display more customization options. If it's already checked, proceed to the next steps.
Changing the Page Background Color
Now that you've accessed the detailed Page Setup options, it's time to change that page color:
1. Click on the 'Background' dropdown menu. You'll see a color swatch with a white background by default.
2. Here, you have two options: choose a preset color or create a custom one. If you prefer the former:
a. Click on the color square you want. A color will be applied to your page background.
b. Alternatively, you can select a pattern from the 'Background' dropdown's second half. This will apply a textured look to your page background.
If you'd like to create a custom color:
a. Click the '+' sign next to the color square.
b. This will open the Color Picker dialog box. Here, you can adjust the sliders for Red, Green, and Blue to create your desired shade.
c. Once you've found your perfect color, click 'OK' to apply it to your page background.
