Animal Jam Discontinued?

Have you been wondering, "Is Animal Jam discontinued?" Let's delve into the world of this popular online virtual game to explore its status and update its player community on the latest developments.

Animal Jam, developed by WildWorks, was initially launched in 2010, riding the wave of popularity that came with multiplayer online games. It allowed players to explore virtual worlds, adopt and care for pets, and engage in various mini-games and social activities. But has this beloved game been discontinued?

Animal Jam's Closing and Leaving Games

In 2018, WildWorks made a significant announcement, causing concern among Animal Jam fans. The company declared that they would be closing Animal Jam Classic, the original version of the game, and moving players over to their newer iteration - Animal Jam Play Wild.

This change led some to ask, "Is Animal Jam discontinued?" However, it's essential to understand that while the original version was closed, the game itself continued with the new platform.

Why the Switch to Animal Jam Play Wild?

The shift to Animal Jam Play Wild was a strategic move by WildWorks to provide a more robust gaming experience and better cater to the evolving needs of its audience. The new version offered enhanced 3D graphics, a mobile app, and more interactive features.

Despite the change, some players still wonder, "Is Animal Jam discontinued for the old players?" The short answer is no. Your old game accounts could be migrated to the new platform, allowing you to continue your adventures with those cherished characters.

What About Animal Jam - High School?

If you're a fan of Animal Jam - High School, you might be curious about whether it has also been discontinued. Animal Jam - High School was a separate game based on the original Animal Jam. It closed in 2019 due to lack of player engagement and resources.

While it's sad that this specific version of the game has been discontinued, it's important to note that the broader Animal Jam universe continues with Animal Jam Play Wild.
