Is 'Trolls 3' Streaming on Disney Plus?

Are you wondering if the sequel to the popular fantasy adventure film "Trolls" is available on Disney's streaming service? Many fans of the DreamWorks Animation series have been asking, "Is Trolls 3 on Disney Plus?" The answer might be a little surprising.

The short answer is no, Trolls 3, also known as "Trolls World Tour," is not currently available on Disney Plus. However, let's dive into why this is the case and what options you have to enjoy the Trolls movie series.

Understanding the Trolls Franchise Distribution

The first Trolls movie was released in 2016, distributed by 20th Century Fox. Disney, however, acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, which included the rights to the Trolls franchise. But there's a catch.

You see, Universal Pictures holds the distribution rights for the Trolls movies. This means that while Disney owns the rights to the franchise, they cannot freely distribute the Trolls movies on their own streaming platforms without Universal's permission or a specific deal in place.

Trolls World Tour Distribution

Trolls World Tour, released in 2020, found itself in a unique situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To allow viewers to enjoy the film safely at home, it was made available for streaming on multiple platforms, including Vudu, AppleTV, and Amazon Prime Video. However, Disney Plus was not one of them.

Universal, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, which is owned by Comcast, has its own streaming service called Peacock. As of now, Trolls World Tour is exclusively available on Peacock in the US. In other regions, it may be available on different streaming platforms based on distribution agreements.

What About Disney Plus?

Despite not hosting Trolls World Tour, Disney Plus does have the first Trolls movie available to stream. This is possible due to the initial distribution deal with 20th Century Fox. However, Disney has not yet secured the rights to stream Trolls 2 on their platform, which was also released by Universal.

迪士尼 Frequently updates its content library, so there's always a chance that Trolls World Tour might make its way to Disney Plus in the future. Fans can keep an eye on the official Disney Plus website or follow Disney's social media accounts for updates on new releases and additions to their library.

The Future of Trolls Franchise on Streaming

Trolls 3, titled "Trolls Band Together," is set to be released in November 2023. With the current distribution rights in mind, it's likely that the film will first premiere in theaters and later become available to stream on a non-Disney platform, possibly Universal's Peacock or another service depending on the region.

However, fans should stay optimistic, as streaming rights can change hands due to deals and negotiations between studios and streaming platforms. Keep checking your favorite streaming services and stay updated on the newest Trolls film's release info for any changes or surprise appearances.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy the original Trolls movie on Disney Plus and create their own adventures with the beloved Trolls characters. Don't miss out on the exciting journey of Branch and Poppy as they navigate their world in search of friendship and happiness. Who knows? Maybe one day, the entire Trolls family will be together on one streaming platform for all to enjoy. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for updates and keep on truckin' like the Trolls!
