Green is the traditional hue associated with this tragic character, but you needn't limit yourself to conventional color choices. Experiment with earth tones to create a sense of decay or vibrant shades to symbolize the chaotic energy animating the monster's inside.

Celebrate Folklore with Mythical Creatures

The realm of folklore is ripe with terrifying yet fascinating creatures that serve as the basis for our next batch of monster coloring pages. From the sinister Krampus to the monstrous Wendigo, these mythical beings offer endless inspiration.

Delve into Northern European folklore with our take on the terrifying Krampus, or venture into Native American legend with the chilling Wendigo. Each of these creatures presents a unique challenge for colorists looking to capture their essence in pigment.

Krampus

Once a year, on the night before Christmas, the horned beast known as Krampus descends upon the world to punish those who have been wicked throughout the year. Our Krampus coloring page captures this menacing figure in all its goat-like glory, complete with cloven hooves, a wicked tongue, and nasty horns.

To truly embody the monstrousness of this legendary creature, use dark, foreboding colors like black, deep burgundy, andochre. Add a touch of silver or gold to hint at the bells hanging from his fur and create a stark contrast against the inky darkness.

Wendigo

A symbol of greed and excess, the Wendigo is said to feast upon human flesh and imbue its victims with the insatiable hunger that defines it. Our Wendigo coloring page evokes the cruel, skeletal appearance of this fearsome creature, complete with sunken eyes and rows of rotten teeth.

To emphasize the emaciated, gaunt appearance of the Wendigo, opt for hues of bone white and varying shades of gray. Enhance the sense of starvation by adding wisps of black to hint at the decay that plagues its form.

Embracing these monster coloring pages is a fantastic way to explore your creative side while celebrating the timeless allure of spooky legends. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a coloringiphobe looking to try something new, these printables invite you to create your own scary masterpiece.
