By Olivia JacksonNovember 24, 2025

In the vast, blocky world of Minecraft, parrots are not just colorful birds; they're also a treat to the eyes, adding a vibrant splash to sometimes monotonous landscapes. But not all parrots are created equal, color-wise. Some are more rare and desirable than others. Let's delve into the fascinating world of parrot colors and their rarity in Minecraft.

Parrots were introduced in the World of Color update, and ever since, they've been capturing the hearts of players. Each parrot species comes in a variety of colors, but certain hues are harder to find than others. This rarity can make them highly sought after, elevating their status in the Minecraft community.

Parrot Species and Colors

Before diving into rarity, let's quickly review the parrot species and their primary colors:

Rarity Based on Color

Now, let's discuss how rare these colors can be, starting from the least rare:

Common Colors

Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Black parrots are quite common. You can often find them in jungles, savannas, and even atop high trees in other biomes. Their colors blend well with their respective environment, making them easy to spot and tame.

Rarity and Particularity

While the above colors are common, some color variations are harder to come by, and that's where the fun begins.

White Parrot

White parrots are a bit elusive. They spawn only in poorly lit places like the roofs of ruined portals or inside shipwrecks. Their elusive nature and stark contrast to their environment make them highly desired.

Pink Parrot ( calf's ear/Mooshroom)

Introduced in the 1.14 update, Pink parrots spawn only on calf's ear fungi found in the Mesa biomes. Their vibrant color and unique habitat make them the rarest parrot species in Minecraft.
