But have you ever wondered how to get the perfect pink shade for your Pink Panther drawings? In this article, we'll dive into the world of Pink Panther colors, providing tips on how to achieve the iconic shade, exploring the character's color history, and sharing some inspiring coloring picture ideas.

The Iconic Pink Shade of the Pink Panther

The Pink Panther's pink hue is a specific shade that sets the character apart from other pink cartoon characters. So, what exactly is the secret to achieving this distinct color?

First, let's debunk a common myth. The Pink Panther is not merely a bright or neon pink. Instead, it's a softer, pastel shade with a slightly purplish undertone. To achieve this color, mix a touch of magenta or purple with a light shade of pink. This will give you the perfect balance for the Pink Panther's unique hue.

The Color's Origin Story

The Pink Panther's color was introduced in the animated series' debut in 1964, created by noted architect and designer Saul Bass. Bass reportedly chose the color for its striking contrast against the animated series' black and white opening sequences. He used Pantone 259 as the official color for the character's fur.

Over the years, the color has become synonymous with the Pink Panther, appearing consistently in various permutations of the character throughout its long-running franchise. Whether it's the animated series, live-action films, or other merchandise, the Pink Panther's soft pink hue remains a constant.

Other Colors Used in the Pink Panther

While the Pink Panther is primarily known for its pink fur, other colors also play a significant role in the character's design. For instance, the character's gloves and shoes are usually depicted in a shade of white or light gray, providing a sharp contrast to the pink fur. Additionally, the Pink Panther's eyes are typically shown as black or dark gray.

Furthermore, the character's distinctive bow-tie usually appears in colors that complement its pink fur. Over the years, this bow-tie has been depicted in various colors, including black, white, and gold. These colors contribute to the character's overall aesthetic, making it instantly recognizable.
