This film introduced us to a new generation of characters, each bringing their unique personality and backstory to the table, allowing the Strawberry Shortcake universe to expand and evolve.

The Main Characters of 2009

Of course, no Strawberry Shortcake story would be complete without the titular character herself. Strawberry Shortcake, known for her sweet disposition and boundless creativity, serves as the heart and soul of the franchise.

Accompanying her are her best friends, the Pupcakes. First introduced in 2009, these mischievous and lovable puppies – Custard, Lemon Meringue, and Blueberry Muffin – add a touch of chaos and fun to every adventure.

Strawberry Shortcake

Our protagonist, Strawberry Shortcake, is a creative and kind-hearted baker who lives in the charming town of Sweet Parade. With her signature strawberry logo on her hat and her unyielding determination, she makes every day a little bit sweeter for those around her.

Throughout the series, Strawberry Shortcake demonstrates the power of perseverance, showing viewers that with enough creativity and determination, anyone can achieve their dreams – no matter how sweet they may be.

The Pupcakes

The Pupcakes – Custard, Lemon Meringue, and Blueberry Muffin – are Strawberry Shortcake's loyal and adventurous companions. Each with their unique personalities, they serve as both comic relief and valuable friends to Strawberry Shortcake.

Custard, the smallest and most timid of the group, often finds himself dragged along on the Pupcakes' escapades, despite his reservations. Lemon Meringue, on the other hand, is brave and daring, always ready to leap into action. Rounding out the trio is Blueberry Muffin, the smart and resourceful one, whose quick thinking often helps save the day.

In addition to the main characters, the 2009 Strawberry Shortcake series introduced a number of new friends and foes that expanded the world of Sweet Parade and added new dimensions to the stories being told.

These new characters brought with them a wealth of original tales, as well as fresh opportunities for our main cast to grow and learn.

The Sour Grapes Gang

One of the most intriguing additions to the Strawberry Shortcake universe in 2009 was the Sour Grapes Gang. Led by the villainous Sour Wetty Wench, this group of mischievous misfits seeks to spoil the fun and happiness found in Sweet Parade.

The Sour Grapes Gang, composed of Sour Wetty Wench, Sour Guns, Sour Patch, Sour Lemon, and Sour Apple, presents a formidable challenge for Strawberry Shortcake and her friends. Throughout their various encounters, the heroes must use their wits, teamwork, and creativity to outsmart their sour opponents and restore balance to their sweet world.

The Sweet rendentables

As a counterpoint to the mischief-making Sour Grapes Gang, the 2009 Strawberry Shortcake series also introduced the Sweet Rendeventables – a group of kind-hearted and eccentric characters who help Strawberry Shortcake on her various adventures.

The Sweet Rendeventables, consisting of Madame Blueberry, Sir Golden Strawberry, Princess Vanilla, and Baron Baron, each bring their unique skills and perspectives to the table. Their assistance and guidance prove invaluable in helping Strawberry Shortcake and her friends navigate the challenges they face, both big and small.
