Dive into the magical world of Pixar with our comprehensive guide to the Toy Story toy collection. Since its debut in 1995, this beloved franchise has captivated audiences and inspired a global phenomenon that encloses a vast array of toys, figures, and collectibles. Let's delve into the endearing universe of Woody, Buzz, and friends.

The Toy Story collection is not just about owning pieces of plastic; it's about preserving memories, reliving cherished moments, and keeping the magic alive. With each figurine or accessory, we can recreate the stories we've grown up with, or introduce new generations to the timeless narratives. But with such an extensive collection, where does one start?

The Iconic Characters

At the heart of the Toy Story collection lie its iconic characters, each with their unique personalities and backstories. From the leaders of the pack, Woody and Buzz, to the supporting ensembles like Jessie and Rex, each toy brings a special charm to the collection.

Woody, the pull-string talking cowboy, embodies loyalty and friendship. Throughout the series, his devotion to Andy and his fellow toys has made him a beloved leader. His figure, from the original 1995 movie, remains a classic in any collection. Meanwhile, Buzz lightyear, the action hero, brings excitement and adventure with his futuristic design and space ranger getup.

Woody and Buzz Lightyear Variants

Woody and Buzz have been released in numerous variants, catering to different preferences and age groups. From the mid-1990s classic figures to modern deluxe editions, each iteration captures the essence of these beloved characters. The talking Woody figure with his removable hat and racetrack shirt is a classic, while the highly articulated deluxe Buzz Lightyear figure offers an impressive play experience.

Special editions and bundles also provide unique opportunities for collectors. For instance, the 20th Anniversary 2-Pack combines Woody and Buzz in their original glory, complete with a mini movie theater stand and a recreation of the iconic 'Andy's Room' backdrop from the first film.

The Gang's All Here

Beyond Woody and Buzz, the Toy Story collection boasts a vivid ensemble of characters that bring diversity and depth to the toy box. Jessie, the sassy cowgirl; Rex, the nervous dinosaur; and Hamm, the suave piggy bank, each bring their distinctive personalities to life. Collectors can assemble their own constellations of these beloved characters, creating their own narratives and play scenarios.

Figures like Bullseye, Jesse's horse, and the Aliens, the trio of extraterrestrials who first appear in Toy Story 2, further enrich the collection. Whether they're from the early '90s or the recent '90s boil, these secondary characters add depth and breadth to the Toy Story universe.

Beyond the Figures: Accessories and Playsets

The Toy Story collection isn't just about the characters; it's also about the worlds they inhabit. Playsets and accessories allow for immersive reenactments of the films' most memorable moments, further enriching the play experience.

The Toy Story playset from Hasbro, for example, comes complete with Andy's room, allowing kids to recreate scenes from the films or create their own stories. It includes a bed, toy box, and a selection of furniture, creating a perfect environment for Woody, Buzz, and their friends.

Themed Playsets

Themed playsets based on the films' key locations provide additional opportunities for imaginative play. The Al's Toy Barn playset, from Toy Story 2, features key landmarks like the toy shop window and an alleyway, complete with a kid-sized measuring station. Meanwhile, the Sunnyside Daycare playset, from Toy Story 3, offers a sprawling environment filled with interactive features.

Beyond playsets, the collection includes a variety of accessories. The Buzz Lightyear blaster, for instance, allows kids to reenact the action hero's training sequences. Likewise, the Woody'snahftonack CD player, a faithful recreation of the iconic prop from the first film, caters to fans of the original movie.

The Limited Editions and Exclusives

For serious collectors, limited editions and exclusives offer unique additions to the Toy Story collection. These range from altered color schemes and unique packaging to completely new sculpts. For example, the Target-exclusive Woody figure comes with an exclusive 'Alien' outfit, catering to fans of the second film. Meanwhile, the accessories pack, available at Walmart, includes a Sunnyside Daycare-specific 'M acceleration suit' for Buzz Lightyear.

These exclusives not only add value to the collection but also provide opportunities for collectors to showcase their dedication to the franchise. They also foster a sense of community among fans, who can share their exclusive finds and exchange stories.

As we embark on the next chapter of the Toy Story saga with Toy Story 4, the collection continues to grow and evolve.
