Reddit, a conglomerate of communities or "subreddits" dedicated to myriad topics, hosts a bustling platform for Mario fans, a subset being devotees of the Super Mario 64: Ttyd (Super Mario 64: Shine Sprinter's 64-Delta) variant. A focal point of their conversations? The colorful array of the game's beloved mount, Yoshi.

Yoshi Colors: More Than Meets the Eye

The eight vibrant Yoshi colors in Ttyd, ranging from the classic green to the enigmatic metal, have fueled much speculation and discussion among Reddit users. Each hue, it seems, isn't merely aesthetic but holds potential significance.

Yoshi's colors, some Reddit users posit, may hint at his evolutionary journey or perhaps represent different species. This hypothesis sparks fascinating debates, with users sharing their favorite theories and exchanging insights derived from game lore and artist concept art.

Green: The Original Yoshi

Green, Yoshi's default color, is often considered the standard by many Reddit users. Some argue it represents the original Yoshi species, while others see it as a neutral hue that signifies balance or harmony.

Gameplay-wise, green Yoshi offers no distinct advantages or disadvantages. Thus, many users speculate his color's neutrality might hint at his versatility - a nod to his role as Super Mario's steadfast companion.

Red, Blue, and Yellow: Special Abilities

Red, blue, and yellow Yoshi introduce unique abilities, sparking diverse opinions on their significance. Red Yoshi can breathe fire, while blue Yoshi can float and yellow Yoshi can accelerate.

Some Reddit users interpret these colors as representing various Yoshi species or abilities, scanning the Mario universe for any connections. For instance, the yellow Yoshi's speed might tie into Honeyhop Hopper tunes or the blue Yoshi's floatability could hint at a mystical lineage.

Rare Yoshi Colors: Enigma and Lore

Rarer Yoshi colors, like metal, purple, and baby, incite even more fervent discussion. Their scarcity in-game and intriguing visuals have led to varied interpretations and fan-made theories.

Metal Yoshi's robot-like appearance has users theorizing about a mechanical Yoshi species or an advanced Yoshi subspecies. Meanwhile, purple Yoshi's uncertain origin and baby Yoshi's palpable cuteness (and potential hint towards Yoshi's evolution from eggs to toddler stage) keep Reddit abuzz with lively debates.

Egg Yoshi: The Mysterious Omlette

Egg Yoshi, obtainable only through game exploits, is another topic of intrigue on Reddit. This easter egg (pun intended) has users sharing techniques to obtain him and conjecturing about his enigmatic appearance.

Akin to metal Yoshi, some users hypothesize that egg Yoshi could represent an alternate Yoshi species or form. Others joke that he's simply Yoshi in his true, half-baked state, a tongue-in-cheek nod to the egg-based Easter eggs theme.
