Breyer Winter Coloring Contest: Unleash Your Creativity This Season

The Breyer Winter Coloring Contest is an annual event that brings joy and creativity to horse lovers worldwide. Organized by Breyer, a renowned name in horse figurines, this contest encourages participants to pick up their colored pencils and markers and bring to life their artistic interpretation of the given horse breed or figure.

Each year, Breyer selects a theme or a specific horse breed as the focus of the contest. Past themes have included majestic breeds like the Clydesdale, or specific Breyer figurines like the Wild & Free Mustang. The contest is open to both adults and children, fostering a sense of community among equine enthusiasts of all ages.

How to Participate in the Breyer Winter Coloring Contest

The contest is easy to enter and encourages participation from all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a coloring enthusiast, everyone has an equal chance to win.

First, download the official coloring page from the Breyer website. The page is optimized for printing on standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Once you have the image, let your creativity run wild with colored pencils, markers, crayons, or any other art supplies you prefer.

Coloring Tips and Techniques

Experiment with different shading techniques to create depth and dimension. Layer lighter and darker colors to create a sense of realism. Don't be afraid to use bold strokes and vibrant colors to make your entry stand out.

Remember, the contest isn't just about precision or technical skill. Judges are looking for creativity, originality, and love for the subject matter. So, let your unique perspective and artistic style shine through.

Photographing Your Entry

Once you're satisfied with your completed masterpiece, it's time to capture a high-resolution image of your artwork. Place your colored page in a well-lit area and use a good quality camera or smartphone to take the photo.

Avoid using flash as it can cause harsh shadows. Experiment with different angles and distances to find the best composition. Ensure the entire colored page is in focus and there are no distracting elements in the frame. After capturing the image, upload it to the Breyer website to submit your entry.

Prizes and Recognition

The Breyer Winter Coloring Contest offers a variety of exciting prizes to inspire participants. The Grand Prize winner receives a Breyer horse collection and a cash prize. Category winners also receive cash prizes and Breyer products.

In addition to the prize winners, many entries are featured on the Breyer website and social media channels, providing artists with invaluable recognition and exposure. The contest also fosters a sense of community, bringing together horse lovers and artists from around the world.

Judging Criteria

Entries are judged based on creativity, use of color, ability to follow the theme, and overall artistic skill. The contest is open to entrants worldwide, and winners are selected from various age categories to ensure fairness and inclusivity.

Whether you're a professional artist or a beginner, the Breyer Winter Coloring Contest is an excellent opportunity to showcase your creativity, learn new techniques, and connect with like-minded individuals.
